Mummification

Postby Gothit » Thu May 27, 2010 4:34 pm

Has anyone ever been mummified before? That is to have something like bandages, cling film or tape wrapped around your body from at least ankles to shoulders.
It's my favorite kind of restraint and am curious to know if there are many others out there who also like the idea or who have even tried it!

I have not, but I really want to. I've always thought mummification looked awesome and it's probably the one tie I really want to experience.

I have been wrapped in plastic, bed sheets, gym mats and a body cast (although it may not count) . always wanted to try tape.
Let's use all the colors.
Dust 'em, Pix!
Yup! That tasted purple!

If about a quarter mile of rope counts, then yes.
Otherwise no, but would really, really like to be.

Pfff I wish. Mummification looks so great, both kinda comfortable and warming yet strict and inescapable. That is unless you roll over coarse surfaces for hours until the tape disintegrates :P

I think that may be one reason why I was ever mummified only with rope. Not only does it NOT abrade so easily but it's considerably more uncomfortable trying to roll around in it - assuming you don't get tied to something immovable that PREVENTS you from rolling around ANYWHERE in the first place like I sometimes was!

Oh, my. I wasn't even thinking of THAT when I gave my answer before. If sheets and blankets count as mummification then I HAVE been mummified several times even if ropes do not count (though sometimes the blankets and ropes went together)! And some of those times I was treated like I was a giant baby in a baby blanket in the bargain! Well, I WAS only a kid at the time! No scarves though - except as gags.

Clingfilm and tape was not comfortable. It was sweaty, but it was secure.

ANY tie up has its risks. Ropes have different risks from tape. Cuffs have risks from either of the others. Hogties have different risks than mummification, and so on.
It all depends on who tied you up, how well they did it, but most of all it depends on how careful they are to take care of you. As long as it's a friend who is careful to watch out for your best interests and responds at once if you get into trouble, mummification is no more dangerous than any other form of tie. The only thing dangerous about mummification (other than the increased possibility of getting overheated quickly) is being left alone unattended for more than a reasonable length of time (which in my opinion at least is no more than a few minutes); and that's true of ANY form of secure tie.
When properly done and the 'captive' properly attended to, mummification can be one of the most fun forms of TUGs there is.

That was another advantage of being 'mummified' with rope; enough of your body is left exposed to the air so that you don't overheat. The only real problem with pour method were all the ropeburns until we got more experienced with tying in such a way as to minimize those.

I've been mummified with blankets too (mostly with a thick, heavy wool blanket), and I loved it.

I've been mummified with blankets, cloth, and plastic wrap. Once there was even duct tape wound round the plastic wrap. I also have a sleepsack, as you can see from my profile photo - I'd consider that mummification, as it is tight-fitting over the whole body. Being mummified and then lashed rigidly to a pole or frame - yum! My profile shot tie-up I believe I was in for somewhere around two hours.

Never tried a real one either; just a sleeping bag that had been modified into something like a sleepsack (with numerous straps sewn right into it!) long before real sleepsacks were invented (or at least before I'd ever heard of them; were sleepsacks around in the early 70's?). It'd be nice to try the real thing to see how it compares; especially if I was forced to stay in it for a while!

The sleepsack I have is contoured for the body and has internal sleeves for the arms. The latter feature is, I think, the real difference. Once you're in and zipped up, there isn't enough "give" to allow you to withdraw your arms from the sleeves - they are firmly pinned to your sides. So I think you're in for a real treat if you can ever find one.

Sounds great. My only real problem is that I have no one to zip me in nor to let me out of the darned thing again! And such things wouldn't be any fun for me when I'm all by myself, anyway! There's no fun for me in being tied up or helpless if there's no one around I trust to be at the mercy of.
I think David (the kid who modified the sleeping bagwhen I was a kid) tried to make internal sleeves, but the inner lining of the bag just wasn't durable enough to make this work. By the time we were 15, he hit upon sewing in internal straps (in an all new and rather more durable sleeping bag which I think was made at least partially of leather and which I think he made himself) which worked fairly well. Still, it was pretty inventive for a 14-year-old kid working on a regular sleeping bag on his own, I think. It might not been quite as secure as a modern sleepsack, but it wasn't like fighting your way out of a paper bag either!

IT'S EXACTLY what I would like to try.... but there're two great probs with it.....
first: I don't know where I could hide sach a thing in my house
second: the same of Jason... I usually play alone...

but, at least, let me dream... :annoy:

Presuably as long as you want. The longest I was ever mummified was overnight - taped together with my best friend; face to face ; naked. I didn't have to arrange *that*; my cousins and other friends set it up themselves. I was happy enough; my friend less so because of the humiliation aspect of it. One of the best experiencs of MY life though. Only problem for others that you need an outside person who can keep a secret.
