Re: In My Dream

This might make a good set of notes for a fantasy story.

Re: Writing Help/ How Much Backstory Is Too Much Backstory?

I think Jason has been reading the plot for a forthcoming story in another place!

I don't quite agree with the pont, though. Just mentioning, among other things, that a charcter dislikes spinach (or some other trait) can contribute to his charcter description.

Re: WALKIES

Some people escape the predations of mosquitos while thi companions get "bitten to death". What amuses me is that none of the pharmacies stock tic removers. I get mine form the vets! We have to be a bit careful because Lyme disease has been recorded in the Forest.

Re: Why do we bother

Thanks for the comment, Liz, but the problem would be deciding who should judge the "good content" based upon what criteria. Even trying to settle upon the criteria would be like disturbing a viper's nest!
We do use honorary rankings for contest winners.

WALKIES 2 A Stroll in the HiIls If I'd been with my mates, I would have enjoyed the trek through the not very demanding hills. We would have talked, told disgusting jokes, boasted "creatively" about our girlfriends (I still think it's a better idea to pretend all the while I'm living at h...

I'm all for competitions but may I point out that, at the time of posting, only four people had expressed an iterest in such an event in the poll.

Re: Another competition ?

For me (When I'm not a competitor), the writing has to be of a good standard and any rules (including those concerning the length of an entry) need to be strictly observed. The competion I managed to win was, I think, not judged fairly as I believe that Suestruggles, if I remember rightly, should ha...

Jason, you know the Falcon Codes. Well, you ARE ex-Air Force, so you should. Drawscore For once I must concede mastery of obscene language to our American cousins. As far as I know, the official British lexicon doesn't stretch much beyond "Foxtrot Oscar". But then, I have never been a mil...
